A little while after getting my degree in Secondary Education from IU, I got my start in the waiver world working for a residential provider in 2003. I worked for a few years supporting different individuals around the Indy area and supervising direct care staff. I next worked for a few years with STARS team at Midtown Community Mental Health Center, which is the mental health part of what was Wishard Hospital and is now Eskenazi. While with the STARS team, I worked as a care coordinator specifically with adults dually diagnosed with an intellectual disability and mental illness. While at Midtown, I developed a special passion for working with individuals with dual diagnoses. I love the directness that I often get from this population, as I am definitely a 'straight shooter' myself.
I made a natural transition into case management in 2013. In the years since entering case management, I have really developed my strong sense of client advocacy. I feel very passionately about helping the individuals whom I serve to achieve the things they want in their lives. Client advocacy is really my passion. I am so grateful that I've been able to support some of the same individuals for the duration of my case management career.
When not working, I am busy running around with my husband, Scott, and our four kids. Our older two sons are Dean (14) and Max (12). We also have 8 year-old twins, Warren and Elyse. We live in Fishers, but love spending time in northern Indiana at our lake house where my husband went as a kid.
